A Community-Based Suicide Prevention Initiative

Founded in 2020 with a Grant from "Together With Veteran's"

The Veterans Coalition of Central Arizona (VCCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, unwavering in its commitment to reducing suicidal ideation and behaviors among Veterans in rural communities. We were initially funded by a grant and follow the national Together With Veterans (TWV) platform.

We believe in empowering Veterans to lead high-quality and satisfying lives. Our efforts extend beyond prevention to ensure Veterans have access to the full benefits and resources. We are strong advocates for effective interventions, gaining insights into the psychological and neurological factors contributing to suicidal thoughts and actions. We are dedicated to saving lives and enhancing the well-being of our area Veterans.

Our Focus

We focus on developing and implementing community-based suicide prevention strategies specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of rural Veterans, especially those in Central Arizona. Our organization understands Veterans’ complexities, challenges, and strives to address these with compassion and innovation.

Our Vision

Our vision is to expand the range of information and treatment options accessible to Veterans and their families. Through the TWV framework, we aim to empower care providers and communities with the necessary resources and knowledge to reduce suicide risk effectively.
